WHAT IS FOAM ROLLER EXERCISE ?
Foam Roller is also known as myofascia release, a simple self-care technique that reduces chronic pain and helps you stay healthy, youthful and active for a lifetime. It reduce the effects of accumulated tension and stress caused by daily living.
New research has revealed the missing link to pain-free living: a balanced nervous system and healthy connective tissue. This one-of-a-kind treatment method rehydrates the connective tissue, rebalances the nervous system and restores space to compressed joints.
Using a foam roller for self-massage is a great way to relieve tension and stress throughout the body. Rolling out sore areas helps break up fascia, the network of tissue that connects muscles, allowing you to be more flexible, increase range of motion and help your tight muscles recover from strenuous workouts. This process of myofascial release also speeds up muscle recovery so you can be fully ready for your next workout or competition in less time.
Foam rollers can also be used in a variety of exercise programs. Some of the most common uses involve Pilates and yoga routines. In these programs, the roller can be used to create an instability that challenges the core, promoting strength and balance. Other movements use the roller in ways that increase flexibility and range of motion, such as stretching and bending exercises.

FOAM ROLLING FOR
Wouldn't it be nice to have a masseuse on hand after runs or at the office to smooth out aches and pains from sitting so much?
The average office worker spends approximately 10 hours per day sitting, Sitting in the same position can negatively impact your posture and the way your body is intended to move.
Sitting bending your legs shortens your calves robbing you of ankle ROM
Sitting causes your glutes to turn off and your hip flexors to shorten
Sitting rounds your back increasing your risk low back pain
Pecs shorten rounding your shoulders forward
The muscles that are contracted all day while sitting at a desk develop knots in them. These knots (or adhesions) limit flexibility of the muscle which decreases the ROM of your joints. Putting pressure on those knots with a foam roller will help massage the knot out so the muscle can return to its intended length.
